Pronouns are used interchangeably throughout this document in the following manner: I, us, we, our, my refers to myself and my partners and employees. You, your, they, their and other second- or third-person pronouns refer to you and anybody accessing these websites and services through your accounts.
What personal information is collected when you visit my websites?
Your email address and, optionally, your name is received and stored in my mailing list when opting in to the newsletter or to download free content.
When purchasing products, additional contact information (including contact numbers and billing address) is required for identification and billing. I may also ask your birth date to verify age, and your gender pronouns so I know how to address you.
When is information collected?
Information is collected from you when you register a profile, subscribe to a newsletter, make a purchase, comment on a post, respond to a survey or marketing communication, or use other site features that require personal information for its usage.
When you leave comments on the site, the data shown in the comments form is stored, together with your IP address and browser user agent string. The Akismet anti-spam service has been implemented, which will also collect information about visitors who comment in order to curb spam. Typically, this includes the commenter’s IP address, user agent, referrer, and site URL (along with other information directly provided by the commenter such as your name, username, email address, and the comment itself).
Personal information such credit card details, physical addresses, contact details that you don’t want to be public, etc. should NEVER be entered into any freeform fields on this website.
Before you upload images to my websites (via comments or contact forms), please strip the images of embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Other visitors (as well as myself and my team) who come across your uploaded image (eg. a profile image or comment image) can access it and extract any location data still embedded.
All information submitted in contact forms is collected and stored, to ensure that I have records of communication. Usually this will include your name, email, and a message. Please Do NOT submit any information you do not want me or my team and partners to be privy to.
How is your information used?
The information collected from you may be used in the following ways:

- To administer a contest, promotion, survey or other site feature.
- To quickly process your transactions.

How long is your data retained
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue. You can delete any comments you’ve made at any time at your discretion.
Details for registered users, newsletter subscribers, and purchase history is also stored indefinitely unless a request to delete said information is received. Users who have set up profiles on any of my websites can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time.
All other data necessary for the smooth running of my websites is stored locally for a limited period of time.
How is your information protected?
This website and other websites in the family (including Expressive Explorer, Jai’prakash and Creation.begins) are consistently scanned for potential vulnerability and malware.
My websites provide articles and information, as well as purchasable products and adventures. Credit card numbers are never asked for directly by my websites. Purchases by credit card are performed by secure and reliable third-party services (such as PayPal or Swipe internationally and Payfast in South Africa). All transactions are processed through these gateway providers and are not stored nor processed on my sites’ servers.
Your personal information (such as name, email address, etc.) is contained behind secured networks and is only accessible by a limited number of persons under my employ who have special access rights, and are required to keep the information confidential. In addition, all sensitive information you supply is encrypted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology.
We implement a variety of security measures when a user places an order, enters, submits, or accesses their information to maintain the safety of your personal information.
That said, should you leave my website by any external link, please be aware that these websites are not affiliated with me, and may collect personally identifiable information through their own website and services. The data collected at this point is subject to the policies of that individual website.
Your rights over your data
